Design and Build Quality
Although coming in at a cheaper price than the Vaio Z, the Vaio S still shows off high-end, solid construction. The chassis is made of magnesium alloy and features reinforced ribs to boost its rugged credibility.The machine is designed to handle the occasional knocks and drops effectively. It supposedly can withstand a drop from a height of three feet. The Vaio S is compact and lightweight (just about 2.3 pounds), making it perfect for individuals who would love to get productive on the go.
Display and Keyboard
The Vaio S is equipped with a 13.3-inch diagonal display with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Unlike the Vaio Z, however, it will not have an option for a WQHD display.The machine comes with a tilted keyboard that will surely make typing a more enjoyable experience. The keyboard is similar to that of the Vaio Z which is tuned to deliver noise-free typing. The keys have coating on top to prevent smudges.
The Performance
The same heavy-duty performance promised by the Vaio Z appears to be on the card with this one as well, being equipped with similar 6th Generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor.The powerful CPU is lent a hand in its operation by ample RAM of up to 8GB capacity. Solid-state drives with capacity of either 128 GB or 256 GB help to ensure processes move along and tasks get executed smoothly. The 128GB drive will reportedly connect over SATA, but the bigger one will do so using PCIe technology.
Additional Information
The Vaio S will run on Windows 10 operating system to help boost productivity with some new exciting features. In terms of connectivity, the premium laptop comes with three USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI output port, a RGB output port and a LAN port.
